RFA walkthroughs
Close or reopen treatment follow-up
Stop waiting for a decision that is no longer needed, with a reason recorded for the individual treatment.
Before you start
- Open the RFA and find the pending treatment under Treatments and history.
- You need permission to update the RFA. Use this action only when an outstanding treatment decision is no longer needed.
- This closes internal follow-up. It does not record approval or denial and does not withdraw the request with the claims administrator.
Numbered red outlines identify the controls used in each step. Select any screenshot to enlarge it.
1Close follow-up for one treatment
Expand Decision no longer required. Enter a specific reason (1), then select Close treatment (2).
The treatment shows Decision no longer required, who closed it, when, and why. Other treatments remain independent. When every treatment has a decision or closed follow-up, the RFA can become Closed.
2Reopen if follow-up becomes necessary
Expand Reopen treatment follow-up. Enter the reason (1), then select Reopen treatment (2).
Follow-up resumes with the original review deadline. Reopening does not start a new review period or erase another treatment’s outcome.
3Check the reopened treatment
Confirm the returned treatment state and reopening reason. The Decision no longer required control (1) becomes available again.
The treatment is pending again and shows who reopened it and why. Its clinical decision remains unchanged throughout closing and reopening.
